Pair jailed for disposal of dismembered remains of Keane Mulready Woods

Two men have been sentenced to six years imprisonment by the Special Criminal Court for their roles in transporting and disposing of the remains of murdered teenager Keane Mulready-Woods. Stephen Carberry, aged 48, and Glen Bride, aged 32, pleaded guilty to assisting in the movement and disposal of the dismembered body. Justice Karen O'Connor described their actions as displaying "abhorrent inhumanity and disrespect," noting it would be difficult to envision a more egregious interference with a murder investigation. Carberry's sentence was reduced from seven years and six months to six years because he was on bail when committing the offence, requiring consecutive sentencing with his existing eight-year term for drugs offences. Bride's six-year term commences immediately. The court heard that Keane was murdered by Robbie Lawlor in January 2020 in Rathmullan Park, Drogheda. Carberry and Bride transported the remains to Dublin, where Bride later set fire to a vehicle containing part of the body. The teenager's torso was recovered fourteen months later from waste ground in Rathmullan.
